Take your dancing one the road and show the judges what you can do!
In this second year of the Badger State Ballroom Dance Competition and Showcase, students of dance compete with each other (amateur entries) or their teachers (professional/amateur aka pro/am entries) in either solo (choreographed) or freestyle (not choreographed) dances.
This is the second year the studio will participate in this fun amateur and pro/am competiton!

All events will occur on Sunday, 24 June 2007.
11-11:45am - Solo Routines
noon- 1:30pm - Smooth Freestyle & Multi-Dance Events
1:45-2:30pm - Solo Routines
2:45-4:15pm - Rhythm Freestyle and Multi-Dance Events
5-6pm - Dinner
6-8pm - General Dancing and Awards
Periods of general dancing occur between the time periods in this estimated schedule of events.
Studio package prices will be published soon. You can expect prices to be low, so you can dance a ton of entries! Leads, we need you! Don’t worry - I will make sure you are ready by 24 June 2007.
Sunday classes and lots of private lesson times will be made available to participants of this competition. I want to revive the Sunday noon volleyball at the Nat, too - good times!
Available Dances
You may have solo and freestyle entries in any of the following dances. Assume American Style unless you would rather compete in International Style.
Smooth / Standard
Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep
Rhythm / Latin
Swing, Rumba, Cha Cha, Mambo, Samba, Merengue, Bolero
Nightclub / Other
Hustle, West Coast Swing
Rules and Regulations
No responsibility for loss or theft in the changing rooms or ballroom can be accepted by the organizers, neither can they be held liable for injury sustainted by attending the competition.
No lifts or drops allowed in any freestyle or multi-dance events.
No smoking in the ballroom.
Couples will be judged on the following: Timing, Lead and Following, Floor Craft, Styling, Creativity, Originality, Performance, Poise, and Technique.
All amateur couples must be entered in the Lead’s dance level, and if different, the younger age category.
You may have the same entries in two consecutive age categories.
If a professional enters two students in the same age, level, and dance, you will split the heat.
