In preparation for the Badger State Competition 2007 in Waunakee, the studio is offering this series of classes, meeting twice each week leading up to the competition.
This class is open to the public and expects dancers to understand leading and following and to have a basic understanding of several ballroom dances . Dancers entering the competition in Waunakee this summer will receive a sizable discount!
Dances covered will include Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Cha Cha, Mambo, Rumba, Bolero, Swing, Hustle, and Merengue.

Eight Weeks of 75-Minute Classes

This class is intended for people new to partner dancing or new to Salsa dancing and will move at an appropriate pace. Experienced dancers are encouraged to enroll and refine your basics!
In this 75-minute class meeting each week for eight weeks you will discover how to produce many of the common dance moves you see at nightclubs where people dance Salsa.
Improve your own balance and learn to recognize how each partner influences the balance of the other. Develop an understanding of how you move your own body and how those movements are felt and interpreted by your partner. (Applies to leads and follows alike.) Build the fundamentals for leading and following well. Exercise those fundamentals to invent your own moves!

Eight Weeks of 75-Minute Classes

This class assumes participants have extensive experince with partner dancing and with salsa dancing and will move at a pace appropriate for Advanced Dancers.
In this 75-minute class meeting each week for eight weeks you will learn energetic, fluid, compact Salsa dancing, featuring many spins, turns, and changes of place. Move your own body comfortably, translating those skills into good leading and good following.
In addition to a number of exciting new moves, you will work on Cuban motion (hips), fancy footwork, arm styling, syncopation, body rolls, and freezes.

Rosendo Fumero is a past National Smooth Champion and Rhythm Finalist. He has vast knowledge in all four styles (Smooth, Rhythm, Standard, Latin) and is a well known and respected judge from beginner to open professional levels. His energetic and creative teaching style is a joy to experience.
If you are competing anywhere, you will be well-served to attend this workshop. Rosendo is a popular judge and will be judging at WI State in April. Get some lesson time with the judge!
