Every event on our Calendar appears in one of more Categories. Below is a list of categories (with checkboxes) and the more general parent categories to which they belong. Hold the mouse pointer over or click the link for any of the categories to read a description of the category.
If you include both “Official Events” and “Our Classes” and choose “Any”, the filtered Calendar will display events published in either category.
If you include both “Official Events” and “Our Classes” and choose “All”, the filtered Calendar will only display events published in both categories. (Events published in just one will not appear.)
If including only one category, it does not matter whether you choose “Any” or “All”.
If you include “Official Events” and exclude “Our Classes”, the filtered Calendar will display all events published in “Official Events” that are not also published in “Our Classes”. (If an event is published in any of the excluded categories, even though it is also published in one of the included categories, it will not appear on the filtered Calendar.)
If you would like to see only the competitions we are attending (ie, Wisconsin State or Indiana Challenge), include “Official Events” and “Competitions”, and choose “All”.
If you would like to see all “Social Dances”, include both “In Town Dances” and “Out of Town Dances” and choose “Any”. (Choosing “All” in this case would result in an empty Calendar, since it is unlikely that an event will be published in both “In Town” and “Out of Town”.)
If you would like to see all “Social Dances” we are attending, including “Offical Events”, “In Town Dances”, and “Out of Town Dances” and choosing “All” will not work (see example 6). Instead, include “Offical Events” and exclude everything except “In Town Dances” and “Out of Town Dances”.
Always contact the event organizer or the venue where the event is held to confirm location, directions, times, dates, prices, and all details. Unless it is one of our own classes or road trips, the Art of Dance may know nothing about the event itself.
